چکیده

Trends in skin and hair treatments focus on natural products due to undesired effects of chemically synthetic ingredients. This study aims investigate the cosmeceutical Equisetum debile (horsetail) extracts relating anti-hyperpigmentation via tyrosinase, anti-wrinkle formation matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), anti-androgenic alopecia 5α-reductase. Ethanolic were sequentially partitioned into semi-purified fractions hexane, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, methanol, methanol insoluble residue. The acetate fraction possessed highest total phenolic content (39.24 ± 0.72 mg gallic acid/g), strongest anti-tyrosinase activities (583.33 23.59 kojic potent collagenase inhibitions (IC50 MMP-1 MMP-2 0.82 0.09 0.94 0.11 mg/mL, respectively). All showed considerable 5α-reductase ranging from 44.59 0.40 83.07 3.46% with activity dichloromethane (1.48 0.06 finasteride/g). In conclusion, E. exhibit potentials. suggests that could be used as a promising ingredient organically treat hyperpigmentation delay aging process. addition, compared current recommended intake finasteride (1 mg/day) for androgenic alopecia, is proposed an alternative source naturally remediate loss.
